Keynote Speakers

Dr. George Feuerlicht

Dr. George Feuerlicht

Dr. George Feuerlicht received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London University, U.K. in 1980. He is the author of over 70 publications on a range of topics in information systems and software engineering. George lectures on enterprise computing topics at the University of Technology, Sydney and the Prague University of Economics. He has presented seminars and professional development courses in Australia, USA, Europe and throughout Asia. George is an organizer of the Workshop on Engineering of Service-Oriented Applications held in conjunction with the International Conference on Service Oriented Computing. His current research interests include SOA, service design and SaaS outsourcing models.

Title: Next Generation SOA

Abstract: While many organizations are still busy implementing SOA, there are recent indications that some organizations are not willing to make substantial investments in new skills and technologies in the current economic climate. Also importantly, recent emergence of Cloud Computing is continuing the trend of delivering enterprise applications and IT infrastructure in the form of externally provided services. The convergence of Cloud Computing, SaaS and WEB 2.0 are redefining the very basis on which the computer industry has operated for decades, challenging some of the basic SOA assumptions and principles. In this presentation we will discuss the synergies between the above technology trends and consider the likely impact of these trends on enterprise computing.

Visualization of the Web Service Selection

Vaclav Snasel

Professor Vaclav Snasel

Due to the increasing number of Web services offering similar functionalities; non-functional properties have become essential criteria to visualizing the selection process of services. This talk presents Formal Concept Analysis to manage Web services and generate the concept lattice describing the relationship between them. The concept lattice is able to highlight hierarchy relationships and, in general, to identify commonalities and differences between services. We demonstrate how to express the relationship between Web services using concept lattice effectively and develop algorithms to retrieve Web services accurately in the lattices.
