Amphora Research Group (ARG) was established in 2001 at the Department of Computer Science, FEECS, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava.

ARG is highly focused in research and development of algorithms for data mining and its application to solving practical problems. Moreover, ARG is also interested in solving real problems in cooperation with industrial partners.

The main topics of ARG are as follows:

  • Data mining
  • Big data
  • Bioinspired methods
  • Social Networks analysis
  • Biosignal processing
  • Pattern matching
  • Data structures
  • Information Retrieval
  • Data Compression

ARG is also active in the field of parallelization and optimal algorithm design. ARG is developing algorithms which utilize any technology which may improve the efficiency or
effectiveness or both. Our algorithm uses last generation of the GPUs as well as Intel Xeon Phi technology.
